Steef-Jan, a dynamic and dedicated professional, plays a crucial role at i8c NL. Having been with the company for the past few months, he brings diverse skills to the table. With a background in biology and biotechnology, Steef-Jan made a career shift to the ICT field in the year 2000, joining KLM. Over the years, he acquired numerous Microsoft certifications, ensuring his proficiency in handling integration challenges across various systems. Steef-Jan’s commitment to continuous learning has been instrumental in keeping up with the ever-evolving landscape of IT.
“Just like a plumber, I ensure a smooth flow (of data)!”
“I would like to compare myself with a plumber. A plumber is responsible for the smooth flow of water. In my case, it’s about enabling the flow of data. Whether it involves designing data exchange processes, leading teams or tackling complex integration challenges. I have a very diverse role, which makes it interesting! The IT-world does not stand still for one minute, and I don’t either. I’m currently busy within the retail industry which I also want to expand my knowledge in”, says Steef-Jan. “It’s important to facilitate crucial business processes such as order placement, logistics and finance.”

“As an MVP, I can share my expertise, knowledge and experience with others. You can achieve that value by doing various things, such as writing blog posts, speaking at events or providing valuable product feedback. By actively engaging with peers and users, I try to contribute to improving and promoting Microsoft’s products and services.”

Speaking at events is something that Steef-Jan also does a lot. He has over 13 years of experience speaking at events. Networking and knowledge sharing are two essential things. Attending events allows professionals to connect with like-minded individuals, exchange ideas and gain insights into different organizations’ approaches to similar challenges. Steef-Jan recommends going to events such as Azure Lowlands (where he’s part of the organization), Cloudbrew, Techorama and the European Cloud Summit. Ofcourse, there are many more!
Commitment to success
Steef-Jan’s path to i8c NL was paved through his previous manager, Sjoerd, who started i8c NL. Sjoerd searched for talented individuals to build a strong team and contacted Steef-Jan along with former colleagues. Now they’re working on expanding i8c NL. “A typical day involves hands-on technical work, collaboration with colleagues and strategic planning. I ensure that systems are interconnected and functioning optimally.”
Even though Steef-Jan has only been with i8c NL for a few months, his passion for Microsoft and Cloud enables him to deliver innovative and efficient solutions to clients. Steef-Jan is very enthusiastic about building with us on i8c NL. “My main goals is to contribute to the growth and success of the organization. As i8c NL is still in its early stages, I will nurture it and help it flourish as a vital part of the Cronos Group, I’m up for the challenge!”
