What’s it like to work at i8c NL? Well, let’s roll out the digital red carpet, it’s time to put one of our members in the spotlight. Frederic has been a part of the i8c NL team since March. You know what they say, time flies when you’re having fun and we couldn’t be happier to have Frederic’s German roots add an unique integration touch to our team. Hold your keyboards as we dive into Frederic’s adventure of these past few months.
Exploring the world of integration at i8c NL
‘Integration expert’ was a new term for Frederic. He has the background of a backend developer, focused on Microsoft technologies. Eager to learn, his focus moved to the Cloud where he gained a lot of knowledge about Azure, Microsoft technologies and native cloud technologies.
“I’m a learning enthusiast, always on the hunt for the last and greatest new developments to fit seamlessly into my integrations. Today, I’m focused on all things integration – from SAP to Salesforce and beyond. To be honest, if I could, I’d spend all day every day learning, exploring and experimenting with IT. Learning about new systems fulfills me, it brings me joy and satisfaction.”

Working at i8c NL: a destiny of bits and bytes
Originally, Frederic is from München, Germany, where he started to work as a freelancer. He learned quickly to develop web pages and database applications for customers. A couple of years later, his girlfriend moved to Amsterdam and he made the decision to follow her, as he is always open to new adventures. Flash forward a few years later, i8c NL destiny happened. Life has a funny way of nudging you in the right direction.
“When I took some time off to enjoy my family and to see my kids growing up, I was not actively searching for a job but got contacted on a regular basis on LinkedIn. I accepted some interviews and during the last interview, we quickly realized we weren’t a match but that person knew i8c NL and thought I could be a great match for them, so he forwarded my CV. I think it was destiny. Flash forward to now, I’m now wrapping up my first project and writing the documentation. Finishing the last bits and bytes, it was quite a success!”
Collaborating across borders
Being the family man he is, Frederic enjoys the flexible working environment at i8c NL. There is one office day a week where everybody should try to come to the office, on Wednesdays. He finds there’s quite a good work life balance. Another thing he really likes about working at i8c NL, is the meet-ups with our Belgian colleagues.
“That’s what I missed while being a freelancer, talking with other people that are in the same sector which happens to be something i8c NL focusses on. It allows people to talk about their problems, their solutions and to discuss possible options. It’s a pleasure to work at i8c NL.”

His goal right now is to find an efficient, cost-effective and reliable solution for customers for given problems. “My goal is to find the best possible solution for my customers”, says Frederic. When we talk about the future of i8c NL, the aim is to grow significantly, to create awareness and to let people know we provide great solutions. “I think Cronos Belgium has a great level of awareness and that’s a level I’d like to achieve in the Netherlands.” Do you think you might be a great fit for i8c NL?
